About Us
It all started with sandy beaches, long summer evenings and two friends…

More than twenty years later and now living on different continents, we have learnt that when you need advice about your family, ideas to keep your child happy or just want to take your mind off a problem, time spent chatting with a friend is often all that is needed to help pick you back up again. And when your friend on the other side of the world is asleep, finding a helpful article online with your morning coffee can give you some comfort that you are not alone!

Expanding on our knowledge and experience in the printed magazine world, we wanted to create a website with a  monthly magazine feel to it that could act as a friend through the long, sometimes bumpy journey of parenting and family life. As our telephone conversations grew so did 'Kideeko' and with your help we are excited about Kideeko's future!

In our Home & Garden section you’ll find ideas for simple projects that the whole family will want to try. That all important guidance on how to help make your house a home with clever tips and advice. Gardening, whether you have a small potted plant or a full organic vegetable garden, de-cluttering, organisation, time management and feeding your children with healthy family recipes on a budget are just a few topics that we will cover.

In Education & Learning we’ll look at the latest technology, gadgets, children/parenting books and surf the web for new sites that may be of interest, so we can tell you all about them! We’ll include guidance on coping techniques for ADD, Dyslexia, Aspergers and other specific learning challenges, in the home as well as at school. We will give special attention to those special needs that many families face.

In Health & Wellbeing you’ll find easy to digest information for keeping the family happy and healthy. We’ll look at fun ways to exercise and stay fit as a family, share tasty surprises for your child’s lunch box and alternative healthy snacks for a delicious, nutritious treat. We’ll discuss coughs, sneezes and childhood diseases and the great immunization debate. We’ll share how to cope with lack of sleep, hyperactive toddlers, pre-teen moods and even aging grandparents.

In Discover & Explore we visit all the places that your family will want to know about, give you great travel tips, whether your family travels by car, train, plane, bicycle or boat! We will share adventures from families near and far and will also give you the opportunity to become our special review family: take your family out for the day or on holiday and let us know all about it. Families know what other families need!

The Emporium is our special selection of favourite places to shop online that includes clothes for the whole family, toys and gifts for that special birthday or Christmas and pages of essential products that will all compliment the lifestyle of your family. Many of these online shops are working with us on competitions and offers just for you!

In the Kideeko Club we have a safe place just for children - a kid’s club especially for those under 13 years old where they can discover and share great ways to have fun. We ask kids to read the books, tell us what they think and cover all sorts of topics from nature, pets, music, books, games, sports, arts, crafts and no-cook-cooking, right the way through to articles from a ‘child’s point of view’ on rather more delicate topics such as bullying, step families, divorce and illness in the family.

Kideeko isn’t exclusive to Mums and Dads! We include all branches of the family tree; grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles, step-families, foster and adopted families, and of course babies, children and teenagers. We hope that everyone, young and old, will find articles of interest and that you will share with us your own family stories and experiences.

Every month, you will find new seasonal activities and articles that we hope will help bring your family a little closer; help understand one another just a little bit more and highlight all the positives of family life.
