A Day Out With Dad

With Father’s Day popping up in the middle of June we went exploring to find a little inspiration for creating a special day out especially for him.

There are lots of fantastic places up and down the country that are fun for the whole family, but how about something that takes your man back to his own childhood to really see him smile?

The Museum of Childhood will definitely bring out his inner He-Man or Scalextric racer. As they have countless toys and games from every era, this is a great place to bring the grandparents to as well. Lots of nostalgic enjoyment for everyone and the children can catch a glimpse of toys from times gone by. Admission is free!

A bit of Bond is always a hit and Beaulieu has the largest official collection of original Bond vehicles in the world on display at their Motor Museum. The children will also love looking for the Weasley’s “flying” car and everyone will recognize the Trotter’s vehicle! There are fun rides for the whole family both in and outdoors to work up an appetite. Then make a pit stop at Brabazon restaurant for a real homemade treat. Or maybe take your knight in shining armour to the Royal Armouries in Leeds – they have everything from crossbows and jesters to medieval swords and Tudor helmets. If your dad is a bit bonkers take him along to see Andy and Mike's Big Box of Bananas show. Join them on a colourful journey taking in some very glamorous, all-singing, all-dancing air stewards, some confused pirates and some amazing musical sea life! You’ll also get to meet Poppy the Pet Porpoise, Andy’s Mum and the mysterious man in the TV and to help reveal the mystery of the Big Magical Box. Fab fun for the whole family!

Supercar Event

Spoil your superman with this Supercar event! On 23 and 24 June car enthusiasts will have the chance to take a turn around the famous corners of Dunsfold Park in an amazing supercar. And don’t think that this is just for the big boys, as children over 4 years old can ride along too,(booster seats are provided.) The fun doesn’t stay on the ground either, as there are Hovercraft rides and Helicopter rides available too!

This will be a really memorable day out and the best part is that The Children’s Trust will benefit from the day too. The Children’s Trust works with children who have multiple disabilities and complex health needs and they help hundreds of children and their families across the UK every year.
